Welcome to the August Newsletter!
Dear colleagues and friends,

AEC believes that research has an important role to play in the life and work of conservatoires...     (AEC White Paper on Artistic Research)
 
Since 2011, AEC has organised annual conferences as the European Platform for Artistic Research in Music. A new important step was taken 27 August when AEC invited eight other organisations from the Higher Arts Education and the cultural sector to a roundtable discussion in Vienna for agreeing on key points for strengthening Artistic Research across the arts and for developing a shared political agenda.

Performances in Rome and Athens coming up in September
The project Opera Out of Opera is now ready to go on stage with its interactive "pocket-sized opera" in Rome and in Athens. The performances will take place in unusual locations and will make use of an interactive app for smartphone to make the audience choosing what happens on stage.

Project news: European Opera Academy LAB (EOALAB)
EOALAB is a new partnership between seven European Conservatories and AEC to trigger innovation in opera education. The partners of EOALAB create learning laboratories, exchange best practices and develop intellectual outputs which will be available to Higher Music Education institutions (HMEIs) and associated institutions.
