Dear colleagues and friends,
warm thanks again to all Congress participants and to our generous hosts at Turin's Conservatorio Statale di Musica “Giuseppe Verdi” for making this year's AEC Congress a fruitful and memorable event.
On 1st December a new European Commission took office under the leadership of Ursula von der Leyen. We are proud that the voices of AEC and Culture Action Europe were heard and that the political battle we fought brought Culture and Education together with Research back in the job title of the new Commissioner responsible for our fields, Mariya Gabriel. We wish her good luck and look forward to our future collaboration with high expectations.
My colleagues in the AEC Council and the entire Office Team wish you all a peaceful Christmas and a joyful New Year!
Eirik Birkeland
AEC President
