Dear colleagues and friends,
Welcome to the AEC newsletter March 2018, which will provide you with substantial information about the latest AEC activities, projects and relevant news within the field of higher music education.
The year has started with an active involvement of AEC representatives in debates regarding higher music education in France and the UK and with advocacy activities at European level, including by strengthening the connection with other cultural organisations. The first meetings of the new AEC project ´Strengthening Music in Society´ (AEC-SMS) took place and the 14th edition of the AEC Pop and Jazz Platform Meeting was successfully organised on 9-10 February in Pescara, Italy. We are happy to also share some positive news with regard to the AEC European online Application System EASY: despite the complications faced during the first year of its implementation, the system has made notable progress with the incorporation of new partners to the initiative.
We would like to thank the Council and ExCom members, our President Eirik Birkeland and last but not least the members of our working groups for their committed contribution to AEC activities.
