Dear colleagues and friends,
 
after the Congress is before the Congress. The AEC Office and elected governing body got already back to work for new activities as soon as they returned from the General Assembly in Turin.

We warmly welcome Kathleen Coessens, Claire Michon, Ivana Perković and Jeffrey Sharkey as newly elected members of the AEC Council. Our congratulations and thanks go to them as well as to the President, Executive Committee and Council members who successfully stood for re-election.

AEC Congress and General Assembly 2019 - A Wrap Up
The AEC Annual Congress and General Assembly 2019 took place at the Conservatorio “Giuseppe Verdi” in Turin from 7 to 9 November with the title “Re-imagining success? - Strengthening Music in Society”, in the framework of the AEC-SMS Project supported by the Creative Europe programme of the EU.

AEC & Advocacy - Developments at the EU level
While the European Commission led by Ursula von der Leyen is taking office on 1st December, AEC joins partners from the cultural and creative sectors to ask for a doubled budget for the Creative Europe programme and to put culture and art education in the spotlight at the EU level.

INTERMusic Project launches its new blended courses
The Erasmus+ Strategic Partnership Project INTERMusic is now launching its new blended courses for actual experimentation by partner institutions between January and March.

International News from the Helsinki Sibelius Academy
The Helsinki Sibelius Academy will support five international orchestral and collaborative productions in 2019-23, while welcoming six new visiting professors and announcing its Summer Academy.

International Project - HarMa Seminar Event
HarMA aims to contribute to the development of quality standards in the field of Music Theory in HMEI's. Its second Seminar Event will be held in the Liszt Ferenc Academy in Budapest.

10th European Music Analysis Conference 2020 - Call for Papers
The 10th European Music Analysis Congress (EuroMAC-10) will be held at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory from 21 to 26 September 2020. Applications are due by 15 December.

As the year slowly comes to an end, we are thrilled to announce the upcoming AEC events taking place in early 2020. Make sure to save a spot for them in your agendas!
The Pop and Jazz Platform (PJP) will take place in February in Gent, while the European Platform for Artistic Research in Music (EPARM) will take place in April in London.
