We are proud to announce that Stefan Gies, chiex executive officer of AEC, has been elected board member of Culture Action Europe (CAE), the major European network of cultural networks, organisations, artists, activists, academics and policymakers. 

The elections took place on Saturday 26 October, at the end of the 2019 edition of the Beyond the Obvious Annual Conference, which this year was focused on cultural practices in non-urban territories, hosted between Kreuzlingen (Switzerland) and Konstanz (Germany). 
 
 

AEC & Advocacy: beyond the (business as) usual
In the past weeks, we participated in the International Music Forum - where a new president and new board members of the International Music Council were appointed -, and strengthened ties with our partners, such as ELIA and ENCATC, while keeping an eye out on political developments for culture and education at the EU level.

Towards a more sustainable AEC: what we can do for our planet
 As a European community of researchers, performers, teachers and students, we could have a bigger impact than we could possibly have as individuals. Besides operating AEC in a sustainable way and advocating for sustainability with our partners, we want to support and encourage our members in their green activities.

AEC Congress and General Assembly in Turin next week
 
The AEC Congress and General Assembly 2019 will take place at the Conservatorio di Musica "Giuseppe Verdi" in Turin from 7 to 9 November next, under the title "Re-imagining Success - AEC Strengthening Music in Society".

Introducing the AEC Stakeholder Assembly on Power Relations
 
During the upcoming Congress in Turin on 8 November next, a plenary session and a parallel session will be devoted to the presentation of a soon-to-be established AEC Stakeholder Assembly on Power Relations.

Applications open - LATIMPE Research Colloquium
On 16-17 January 2020 LATIMPE organises a Research Colloquium on low latency streaming in music learning and teaching for PhD students and researchers at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow. Participation is free of charge. Deadline: 10 November 2019.
