Welcome to the
September Newsletter!
Dear colleagues and friends,

one of the key sequences of Sofia Coppola's Oscar-winning Lost in translation shows a movie-shot in which a Japanese director gives lengthy instructions to the actors, which then the interpreter translates in only one sentence. However, this does not seem to lessen the quality of the film within the film.

To find out which measures and methods of translation our members prefer as part of a renewed AEC language policy, a survey has been launched. We cordially invite you to take part in it (and to read about many other exciting topics in the September issue of the AEC newsletter).

UPDATES FROM THE AEC OFFICE

Jef Cox, Project Coordinator since 2015, had just left AEC Office to join the Quality Assurance Office of the KU Leuven University in Belgium. Jef was mainly serviced to MusiQuE, where he worked as Policy and Review Officer. As part of his activities for AEC, Jef supported the work of two AEC Working Groups: on Learning Outcomes (2015-2017) and on Diversity, Identity and Inclusiveness (2017-2019).

Nina Scholtens, who had joined the AEC team as intern in February 2018, and worked as Communication, Advocacy and Project Coordinator since July 2018, has now moved to Dublin to pursue a Masters in Cultural Policy and Arts Management.

We are very thankful to Jef and Nina for their dedication to and hard work for AEC and for being wonderful colleagues.

Since 1st September, Gabriele Rosana has joined the team as Advocacy and Communication Officer. We wish him a warm welcome and a good start!
