EXTENSION OF THE APPLICATION DEADLINE
The University of Music and Performing Arts Graz – Institute of Music Education – is offering a position, beginning with the winter semester 2021/2022 and lasting for a period limited to four years, for a
University Assistant (w/m/d) for Music Education in secondary schools
based on § 26 of the collective agreement for university employees, in the form of a part-time contractual position with the extent of employment being 50 %. The minimum monthly gross salary for this position is at present € 1,485.75 (14 payments annually). If need be, and on the basis of the collective agreement instructions, this amount could be increased through the crediting of specific prior experience. The employment contract needs to include the completion of an academic doctoral degree in the field of music education.
The particular duties that are involved in this position include
a) Participation in the tasks assigned to the department in music pedagogical research
b) Independent research activities, in particular as part of a scientific doctoral degree programme in the field of music education at the KUG scientific doctoral school
c) Collaboration and support in the preparation and evaluation of symposia, conferences, as well as advanced and continuing training courses
d) Collaboration in and editing of publications
e) Participation in examinations
f) Participation is essential in administrative duties, as well as evaluation activities in the organizational unit to which you are assigned
g) Supervision of students
h) Independent teaching of courses and holding exams
General Employment Requirements
Completion of a diploma or master’s degree in music education, preferably completion of a teaching degree for the secondary level with the subject of music education
Special Employment Requirements
a) experience in scientific work and in the organizational field
b) very good knowledge of German and English
c) very good software knowledge: MS Office; knowledge of selected Adobe software (e. g. Indesign, Photoshop) and Sibelius is also desirable
d) high problem-solving ability
e) willingness to cooperate and work in a team
f) knowledge and experience in the field of digital teaching, including in distance learning and CMS Moodle
