The NMH/AEC Master Forum for Folk, Traditional and World Music will take place online on 25 May 2021, 16:00-20:00 CEST. It is a student-led forum that will provide an opportunity to discuss one’s project and receive feedback from peers, share and reflect upon experiences, and meet other master’s students in a time when networking opportunities are difficult to come by. The forum is initiated by two folk music master’s students at the Norwegian Academy of Music, Zoha Warpeha and Isa Holmgren, and supported by the AEC.
Zoha and Isa shared in an interview how important it is during an artistic study program to meet other students and create a long-lasting professional network. Unni Løvlid, leader of the folk music department, reminded also how our studies should reflect the multiculturality of our society.
The forum welcomes presentations from master students at programmes for folk, traditional or world music in European higher music education institutions. The deadline for registering as a presenter is 10 May.
Participants can register until 21 May. The forum is open to students at the bachelor, master and Ph.D-level as well as teachers belonging to the field of folk, traditional and world music.
More information about the event and registration can be found on the event webpage.
