Kubbo, the Spanish leading company in performing arts and social innovation, Clásica FM, an important specialised radio station, Arte sin dormirte, an Instagram account with more than 50k followers and Revista Melómano Digital, leading classical music magazine, present Estado del Arte: the largest participatory process to date in the field of arts education in Spain.
Estado del Arte is a project that, on the one hand, has an informative aspect through a video podcast that explores the new Law on Artistic Education in Spain: 5 episodes that focus on students’ rights and participation, teaching staff, management and autonomy of the centres, relationship with the university and study plans and the link of our conservatories and schools with society at large and artistic institutions. This whole process has been accompanied by various publications on the Instagram account of Arte sin Dormirte with questions and surveys that have been directly commented on in the different episodes. In parallel, a series of articles in Melómano Digital expands on the five main themes on which Estado del Arte is based but also gives space to others such as pre-university art education.
In addition, a discussion platform has been created on Discord so that anyone who wants to give their opinion on the legislative reform or make proposals can do so in an accessible way and subsequently pass these concerns on to the decision-making bodies.
There have been 40 participants from national and international organisations and conservatories, including Deborah Kelleher, President of the AEC, and members of Working Groups such as Mimi Harmer, María Sanz, Guadalupe López Íñiguez, Lies Colman and Esther Viñuela, alongside a large number of participants from AEC member institutions.
After the first two months of the project, the podcast has been seen by 15k people on all platforms and more than 120k on social media content, and has directly influenced some of the measures adopted in the new law on artistic education in Spain.
