AEC subscribed to a joint letter together with more than 270 other organisations representing authors, composers, writers and others working in all artistic fields, to call on the European Parliament to adopt the Directive on Copyright in the Digital Single Market. This Directive has been long sought to create a much-needed level playing field for all actors of the creative sector in the European Digital Single Market, whilst giving citizens better access to a wider array of content.
We would therefore like to encourage politicians to seriously work on a solution that could satisfy all who are affected and to make sure that the big players, such as Google and Facebook do not evade their responsibility.
