Green Music Posters is an initiative by the ARTEMIS – AEC Goes Green Working Group. Using the power of music as a communication tool, the posters aim to raise awareness of climate change and the environmental challenges our planet faces daily.

Covering topics from ecomusicology to sustainable art, soundscape composition to eco-friendly touring, these posters present 15 digital postcards featuring compositions inspired by or connected to nature. The selected pieces span various genres and styles, yet all harness music’s ability to convey a powerful message—whether through inspiration, structure, choice of instruments, use of technology, or performance setting.

Each poster includes:

  • A brief explanation of the piece and its connection to an environmental issue
  • Key facts illustrating the environmental issue
  • A QR code linking to a recording of the composition

The Green Music Posters highlight themes such as climate change, rising temperatures, natural disasters (floods, ice melting), deforestation, forest fires, and pollution.

The posters are available as an e-publication above, with larger formats or higher resolutions available upon request.

Combining artistic expression with environmental awareness, the posters were showcased at AEC events in 2023. To bring all the featured pieces together in one place, the AEC Goes Green WG has also created a curated playlist, making the compositions easily accessible for listening.

Designed to raise awareness within HMEIs, institutions are encouraged to share these posters with staff and students and/or display them on their premises. They can also serve as a valuable starting point for discussions on the relationship between art, sustainability, and ecological responsibility within curricula and artistic practice.
