The Philharmonic Orchestra of Benevento (Italy) is pleased to announce its new international project: the First Edition of the International Competition of Opera Singing “Pasquale Pappano”, dedicated to the memory of the famous singing teacher.
 
Based on the idea of M° Francesco Ivan Ciampa, and supported by the human and creative unselfishness of Maestro Sir Antonio Pappano, the First International Singing Competition 'Pasquale Pappano' will be a unique workshop of encounters. It will be an event where voices and stories will gather, where areas from every corner in the world will be represented and generations of artists will find a background to draw their own geography of liberty in their common language of Music.

Selections will take place in Benevento (Italy) from 2nd to 5th May 2017 and they are open to all italian and foreign lyric singers of both sexes who on the contest date are already 18 years old and are not older than 35 years old. The panel of judges will be composed by international artists and professionals, which President will be M° Giovanna Casolla, one of the most important italian soprano voices.

The application form, together with all supporting materials and a copy of registration fee, should be sent not later than 22nd April 2017. At the Final Concert, it will award three study-grants: First Prize “Pasquale Pappano” of 2.000 €, Second Prize of 1.000 €, Third Prize of 500 €.

The first three winners of the competition will take part in the Philharmonic Orchestra of Benevento’s Season 2017 at the concert on 7th May, 2017 conducted by Maestro Francesco Ivan Ciampa and in the special Concert “Memorial Pasquale Pappano” in Castelfranco in Miscano – Benevento (August 2017) conducted by Sir Antonio Pappano.
