The overall goal of Genus project is to raise the awareness of gender and equality perspectives in music education. This conference, organised by students, staff, and leaders from Malmö Academy of Music, Department of Popular Music, University of Agder, Kristiansand, and The Royal Academy of Music, Aarhus/Aalborg, pursues the objective of equipping students, teachers and leaders in music education with practical tools to make the gender balance more equal in the future.
This year's conference focuses on the gender balance at pre-conservatory level, i.e., at music schools and conservatory preparatory courses and up to the conservatories entrance exams.
This topics will be addressed through joint presentations, panel debates, break-out rooms and group discussions.
