The 25th international competition for young opera singers RICCARDO ZANDONAI will take place from 29th May to 2nd June 2018 in Riva del Garda (Italy). The competition is open to all singers born after 1st January 1982.

To take part in the competition the singers must prepare 4 operatic arias in the original language. For the NON COMPULSORY part dedicated to RICCARDO ZANDONAI they must prepare 2 operatic arias or 2 chamber music pieces  by the author.

Lots of prizes to be awarded:

  • 8.000 Euro 1st Prize,
  • 5.000 Euro 2nd Prize,
  • 3.000 Euro 3rd Prize,
  • 3.000 Euro Riccardo Zandonai Prize,
  • 1.000 Euro Mietta Sighele Prize for the young promise (max. 25 yo) to attend the singing masterclass during musicaRivafestival 2018 (July),
  • 5 scholarships (1.000 Euro each)  to attend the singing masterclass during musicaRivafestival 2018 (July).
  • Special Prizes, participation to concerts or performances in a role to be agreed: Wiener Staatsoper (A), Tiroler Festspiele Erl (A), Batumi Art und Music Center (GE), Sinapsi Opera Orchestra “con Verdi nel mondo” (I), Teatro di San Carlo Napoli (I) musicaRivafestival Special Prize, to take part to a production during the festival in summer.
Bed&Breakfast accomodation at the Youth Hostel in Riva del Garda is offered to those singers who require it (limitated places).
