13-14 May LATIMPE will host the second Learning and Teaching conference: Students as researching artists – Music, technology and musicianship. It will be a virtual event, with a special focus on the use of digital tools in higher music education.
The last months, higher education institutions all over the world have moved learning and teaching on to digital platforms due to the spread of COVID-19.
- How does the use of digital tools affect and change learning and teaching?
- What happens to the relationships between teacher and student when learning is taking place on digital platforms?
- How can one design effective and inspiring online learning environments?
These, and many more questions will be raised during the conference from a number of angles, by teachers, students, researchers and leaders. As keynote speaker, we are very happy to present Evert Hoogendoorn, who is a game designer as well as an educator at the University of the Arts in Utrecht. The programme furthermore includes several paper presentations, world café sessions and a panel debate. In addition, there will be opportunities to discuss how the spread of COVID-19 has affected music performance education, and how we can adjust to the new situation.
The conference is free, but you need to register to have access to the digital presentations.
