The Lifelong Learning Working Group (LLL WG) is excited to share the results of its recent survey, designed to explore and analyse lifelong learning opportunities within Higher Music Education Institutions (HMEIs). By identifying patterns and gaps in current offerings, this initiative aims to support meaningful progress in lifelong learning for artists and educators alike.

We’re pleased to announce that the complete survey report is now available!

This survey and report arise as an initiative to fulfil the primary objective of the ARTEMIS Work Package 3 (Training and Providing Advice to Professionals), which seeks to strengthen lifelong learning opportunities for artists and HMEI teachers. Understanding the current landscape of available lifelong learning programs is essential, as it serves as the foundation for enhancing, developing, and creating new opportunities.

The initial findings from this survey were presented during an online session as part of the AEC event for International Relations Coordinators 2023. Further insights were shared during the session titled “Exploring Lifelong Learning Opportunities in European HMEIs: Empowering Growth and Transforming Education” at the AEC Congress 2023, held at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague.

As additional material to complement this report, the LLL WG has produced a video titled “Keep Growing: Unlocking the Lifelong Learner in You,” designed to inspire HMEI members to engage in lifelong learning and to provide insights into the profiles of lifelong learners.
