MUSense Conference | Training for Teachers | Cyber and digital as new perspectives in music performance
The MUSense project organised a Training Activity on Cyber and digital as new perspectives in music performance at Musical Instrument Museum – MIM in Brussels and online from May 3-6, 2023. The training featured lectures on the topic of cyber performance as well as networking activities organised by the hosting organisation, the Royal Conservatoire in Brussels (KBC).
The hybrid training welcomed about 12 participants and 9 lecturers from 11 countries which took part either online or in presence in Brussels. Representatives from partner institutions and from the hosting institution with specific advanced competencies in the field of cyber performance were the target audience of this activity.

- Nuno Cernadas (KCB) with “The Music of Alexander Schubert: Showcasing a future-looking approach”
Friday 05.05
- Dragan Buvac (Lund) with “Presenting the state of technology at Malmö Academy of Music”
- Giusy Caruso (Royal Conservatory of Antwerp) with “Technology & Action-Led Experience in contemporary music performance”
Saturday 06.05
- Luca Piovesan (KCB) with “Music Technology in the Classroom”
- Igor C. Silva (KCB) with “It seems that Mr Stockhausen didn’t exist”
The MUSense project seeks to understand how evolving technology will impact virtual performance delivery and reception, while also promoting innovative thinking in virtual reality. The training was organised by the researcher Nuno Cernadas together with the project partners.
The MUSENSE’s consortium is composed of the following partners: Conservatorio Alessandro Scarlatti Palermo (Italy), Ιόνιο Πανεπιστήμιο – Ionian University (Greece), Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel (Belgium), Malmö Academy of Music (Sweden), Yaşar Üniversitesi (Turkey) and the AEC.
