The BTHVN 2021 International Conference on Music, Interaction and Outreach will take place on 19 – 21 September 2021 under the title “Passion meets Profession” and in the context of the Beethoven anniversary “BTHVN 2020”.
The conference is intended to be a platform for those working in the field of amateur and professional music: professional and amateur musicians, music researchers, professionals from the educational sector and representatives of national and international umbrella organisations. The seminar will be focused on the opportunities and challenges of music making in amateur and professional orchestras on an international level, topic that will be addressed through keynotes, workshops and panel discussions.
The event will be held in a hybrid format: the physical meeting will be in Dresden and it will be supplemented by livestreams. If a physical event is not possible due to current events related to the Corona pandemic, the seminar will be held as a digital event.
BTHVN 2021 is a project developed by the German Association of Amateur Orchestras (BDLO), funded by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and Media in cooperation with the European Orchestra Federation (EOFed) and the World Federation of Amateur Orchestras (WFAO).
