Royal Birmingham Conservatoire will hold a Musicology Showcase on Tuesday 9 October 2018 from 1.30 – 5.30pm. You can attend in person or follow via the live stream.
It will be a lively afternoon of events providing snapshots of the diverse musicological research at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. Presentations include:
· Jeffrey Skidmore, Jamie Savan and Jeffrey Dean on rhythmic issues in early music notation
· Graham Sadler, Shirley Thompson, Deborah Mawer, Rachel Moore and Christopher Dingle from our French Music Research Hub on music and issues from Charpentier to Messiaen
· Carrie Churnside, William Hunt and Martin Perkins with three perspectives from the Forum for 17th & 18th Century Music
· Contrasting exemplars of Beethoven research from Siân Derry, Matthew Pilcher and Daniel Tong
· Janet K. Halfyard on Danny Elfman and Chris Marshall looking at the influence of the BBC on new music
