2017 AEC Annual Meeting for International Relations Coordinators (IRCs Meeting) 

The AEC Annual Meeting for International Relations Coordinators (IRCs Meeting) will take place at Tbilisi State Conservatoire (Georgia), 21-24 September 2017, under the title “Diversity: Independently Together”. The event, which is going to be attended by more than 150 international relations coordinators coming from all over Europe, will feature – among others – the keynote speech by Prof. Huib Schippers (Director and Curator at Smithsonian Folkways), a presentation by representatives of the EU delegation in Georgia and many parallel sessions on several themes related to the internationalization of Higher Music Education institutions. Before the conference, a hands-on workshop on the new improved version of EASY, the European Online Application System for Erasmus and Nordplus, and two seminars on Branding and on Quality and Internationalization will be offered to the IRCs willing to explore these topics in depth. 2017 AEC Annual Congress and General Assembly (AEC Congress)

The AEC Annual Congress and General Assembly 2017 will take place at the Academy of Music, University of Zagreb on 9-11 November 2017 under the title “Leadership in the Arts, The Arts of Leadership”. The event will feature two keynote speeches by Ivo Josipović – former President of the Republic of Croatia and former student and teacher of the Academy of Music in Zagreb- and by Thomas Meier – President of the European League of Institutes of the Arts (ELIA) and Zurich University of the Arts. The 2017 Congress will offer to AEC members a variety of pre-congress activities on chamber music, learning outcomes and quality enhancement (delivered by MusiQuE) as well as many parallel sessions on themes related both to leadership and to diversity and inclusion. Furthermore, the participants will have the opportunity to propose and discuss topics of their interest in the Opening Brainstorming and to meet colleagues from their and other regions during the Regional Meetings. Finally, the AEC General Assembly, including AEC Council elections, will take place on the last Congress day.
