The first two productions of the itinerant opera will be carried out in Rome between 2 and 7 September and in Athens between 9 and 14 September. Representatives from Mozarteum will, together with the project leader (Santa Cecilia), select the students who will take part in the project performances. The last two productions will be carried out in Salzburg and Pamplona in February 2020. In the upcoming days, partners will decide on the final programme of the performances.
The performances will be supported by a dedicated App which will ensure audience interaction and engagement. In the App, excerpts, information and lyrics of the arias by Verdi, Rossini, Mozart, Puccini, Mascagni, Bizet, Wagner, Zarzuela and Strauss will be displayed.
A call for visual artists will be launched later this month at the European level by the Chamber Opera Association of Navarra (Pamplona). In the call, companies, independent artists and universities will be invited to submit their proposals of video mapping, digital virtual scenes, animations and large-scale illuminations. The proposed original art projections will need to explore the interaction of Opera scenes / arias and video art, while supporting the aims of the project and the audience development activity.
AEC has completed the project communication strategy and has forwarded it to all partners for the implementation.
Opera Out of Opera has been selected as a project to be presented at the ELIA Academy, which is this year jointly hosted by AEC and ELIA, taking place in Stuttgart on 25-27 September 2019 and it will also be presented at the AEC Annual Meeting for International Relations Coordinators 2019 (Prague, HAMU, 19-22 September) and at the AEC Congress and General Assembly 2019 (Turin, Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi, 7-9 November).
