The Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, together with the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan will hold the XXVI Mikhail Glinka International Competition of vocalists. It will take place from 11 to 19 April 2019 in Kazan city.

This is the first vocal competition, which is considered to be a national treasure of Russian culture. The story of this contest begins in December 1959, when the Council of Ministers of the USSR adopted a resolution on conducting the all-Union contest named after Mikhail Glinka. Thus, the Government of the country immediately identified its great state importance, which it has not lost to this day. The contest was to promote the further improvement of artistic skills of young singers and identify new talents. This year, by the decision of the organizing Committee, the first prize winners will automatically become the participants of the International Tchaikovsky competition.

Members of the jury will be outstanding representatives of Opera: Irina Bogacheva, Olga Borodina, Larisa Gergieva, Marina Meshcheryakova, as well as heads of leading Opera houses of the world.

The all-Union and later the Glinka international vocal contest, being the largest creative contest, has always attracted a large number of young Opera singers. In this regard, we invite to participate young singers in the XXVI Mikhail Glinka Competition of vocalists.
