This article explores the possibilities and benefits of increased collaboration between Europe’s Music Education Networks and describes the particular challenge to maintain the distinctive character of each network, but at the same time to create a framework enabling the music education sector as a whole to speak, when necessary, with a united and powerful voice. “Stile concertante” also presents the first projects of collaboration, such as the joint work on the European Agenda for Music and establishing the SCHEME working group, which continues to exist and flourish until today.
