Senior Scientist (w/m/d) with a doctorate
in the field of Theater or Music Studies
The University of Music and Performing Arts Graz – the KUG – with around 2,300 students at its campuses in Graz and Oberschützen, is an international university offering a wide range of courses in music and the performing arts. Located in the heart of Europe, we build on the cultural heritage of our region and at the same time explore and contribute to current trends in the contemporary arts. We engage with international developments in the arts, pedagogy and research, and explore the significance of art and culture in society. Teachers and students work cooperatively in this process. The focus is on music-related research, ranging from natural science and technology to social science and humanities approaches, and also includes artistic research. Your duties
• participation in activities of the ZfGD (according to statutes)
• independent teaching of courses and holding exams
• independent research activities
• supervision of students
• participation is essential in research projects and teaching duties in the organizational unit • participation in examinations
• participation in university committees (e.g. senate, commissions)
• participation in organizational, administrative and evaluation duties
Your profile
- completion of the doctorate in an appropriate professional study area (doctorate in musicology or theatre studies)
- gender research in music theatre/drama including own research project
- Post Doc Project (Habilitation project) is welcome
- experience in the organization and implementation of third-party funded projects
- organization of events in the field of gender studies, diversity, and music theatre/drama:
- cooperation with university departments
- cooperation with non-university institutions
- international networking in the field of theatre studies and musicology
- competence and/or experience in the areas of gender and diversity

Contract: Substitute position, from October 1, 2023 until September 30, 2026
Level of employment: Full-time
Salary: Collective agreement minimum monthly gross salary currently € 4,351.90 (14 x annually); a higher salary may be negotiated.
