Job Description

This opportunity is perfect for individuals who are passionate about communication, music, the cultural sector, and higher music education. We’re seeking candidates with exceptional English writing skills, experience in social media management, content creation, and a flair for graphic design.

The intern will work in a small and dynamic team based in Brussels, Belgium. 

As the Communication Intern, you will gather news, data and information from AEC's members and shape it into content suitable for publications, our website and social media. You will assess how to share content from within and outside the network through different communication channels. You will assist with implementing the communication strategy and its improvement, for example, by monitoring statistics.

To improve our visibility to partners and policymakers, you will also monitor important developments in the policy field on different levels (e.g. European Commission, European Parliament, EACEA, national governments, and partners). As an intern, you will also be involved in our expert working group meetings. Depending on the application period, you will also get the chance to travel to some of the AEC events (Congress, PJP, EPARM, IRC Meeting) to take care of communication and help with logistics.

Responsibilities:

  • Gather news, data, and information from AEC members
  • Shape content for publications, the website, and social media
  • Assess and implement communication strategies
  • Monitor statistics and important policy developments
  • Participate in AEC working group meetings and events

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated creativity and expertise in social media strategy, content creation, and platform management.
  • Advanced proficiency in English, with exceptional writing and communication skills.
  • Proven experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Proficiency in French, German, or Italian will be considered a strong asset.
  • Strong willingness and ability to learn new tools and adapt to evolving digital trends.
  • Capable of efficiently managing and prioritising a diverse range of tasks with attention to detail.
  • A collaborative team player with a proactive and solutions-oriented approach.

Ideal Candidates for the Internship:

  • Students/alumni of cultural management courses, European studies, communication studies, or related humanities programs.
  • Seeking experience in working in a cultural organisation on a European level
  • Interested in working with European funding programmes in education and culture

The position is full-time and requires presence in or relocation to Brussels. Partial teleworking is allowed.
