We are looking to appoint an exceptional teacher to engage and inspire our popular music students as a Lecturer in Musicianship .

The BA in Music Performance and Industry is a three-year undergraduate programme in Popular Music. As the post holder, you will work closely with a team of highly-skilled, forward-thinking professionals committed to fresh approaches to learning and teaching. We emphasise creativity as students develop their artistic voice, gaining skills in performance and production. The ability to teach music theory aurally and its practical application to a wide range of musical abilities is crucial. As a successful candidate, you will have an expansive knowledge of popular music genres, with the ability to deconstruct and demystify repertoire to equip students with critical analysis that leads to independent learning and creative work.

Previous teaching experience and curriculum design in Higher Education are desirable, though not exclusive. The Faculty of Music is committed to innovation in learning and teaching. As the music industry evolves, you will have a crucial role in keeping the program updated with the latest developments. As a member of the team teaching popular music education, we are interested in your expertise in other areas of teaching, such as Music Industry Studies, Songwriting, Music and Society, Music Production, community engagement, and Band project leadership.

Salary: £56.47- £66.28 per hour depending on experience
