Part-Time Faculty, Movement/Yoga

Berklee College of Music Valencia Campus is seeking applications for part-time instructor(s) to teach movement and/or yoga to undergraduate music students. This position reports to the Director of Study Abroad and Special Programs. Position would be for spring 2025 with the possibility of extending into the next academic year.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

- Nationally or internationally recognized certification in yoga, dance or related field

- Must be able to speak and teach in English

- Teaching experience in dance and/ =or yoga

- Student centered

Preferred:

- Teaching experience at the post-secondary level, and particularly to US undergraduates

- Experience as a musician or experience working with musicians and/or individuals within the music industry

- Specialization in somatic or other practices specifically tailored for musicians

- Ability to teach both Movement for Musicians and Yoga for Musicians 1

- Ability to possibly teach other related courses within music performance or the liberal arts and sciences

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Teach one section of Movement for Musicians and/or

- Teach one section of Yoga for Musicians 1

- Engage with students outside of the classroom and assist with special activities if needed

- Participate in undergraduate faculty meetings

Other duties as assigned

START DATE: January 2025
