The University of Music and Performing Arts Graz - Institute of Jazz - is offering a position beginning with the winter semester 2024/25 for two guest professors (Senior Lecturer) for Trumpet Jazz.
The University of Music and Performing Arts Graz – the KUG – with around 2,300 students at its campuses in Graz and Oberschützen, is an international university offering a wide range of courses in music and the performing arts. Located in the heart of Europe, we build on the cultural heritage of our region and at the same time explore and contribute to current trends in the contemporary arts. We engage with international developments in the arts, pedagogy and research, and explore the significance of art and culture in society. Teachers and students work cooperatively in this process. Your tasks in particular
• Teaching in particular in the central artistic subject trumpet jazz in the jazz specialisation as well as instrumental and vocal pedagogy (jazz)
• Independent organisation of courses and holding of examinations
• Independent artistic activities
• Supervision of students
• Participation in artistic development tasks and teaching tasks that are the responsibility of the
organizational unit to which they are assigned
• Participation in audits and evaluation measures
Your profile
• relevant tertiary qualification from an Austrian or international institution or equivalent artistic aptitude
• Outstanding personality with the highest artistic qualifications for the position
• Teaching experience in the tertiary sector as well as outstanding pedagogical and didactic aptitude
• Internationally outstanding artistic career
• Experience in the conception and organisation of artistic projects
• Willingness for further training
• Skills and/or experience in dealing with gender and diversity
Contract: Temporary limited to 1 academic year, with the option of a mutually agreed, limited extension
Level of employment: Part-time employment to the extent of presumably 6 hours each (weighted 100%). The extent of employment can be increased by mutual agreement through teaching assignments.
Salary: The minimum monthly salary for this teaching position is currently € 1,342.08 gross (14x per year, classification according to § 26 of the Universities Collective Agreement) and may be increased on the basis of the provisions of the collective agreement through the recognition of job-specific previous experience.
