The AEC preparatory working groups members work on the preparation of AEC events on voluntary basis. The AEC Preparatory Working Groups are all formed by coopting active individuals in the relevant field of specialization within AEC member institutions. Proactivity, as well as geographical and gender balances are the applied criteria to guarantee the diverse and dynamic character of the groups, who should ideally recreate the diversity of AEC members institutions.
Working group members are financially supported by their home institutions, which cover their travel and accommodation expenses to the working group meetings and to the actual event.
AEC POP & JAZZ PLATFORM MEETING 2016
Codarts-Rotterdam
12-13 February 2016
Banding Together
In times of change/flux
A joint meeting with Europe Jazz Network and the International Associaion of Schools of Jazz exploring new ways of strengthening the connections between higher education training for pop & jazz musicians and the professional ‘ecosystems’ of European festival, venues and activists that promote these genres. The challenges and opportunities of developing and evaluating students’ skills and competences in a learning environment that is partially embedded in the ‘real world’ of concerts and audiences.
NB: on 10-11 February, the European Music Council is organizing in Leiden (The Netherlands) a European Forum on Music Education, focusing on Audience Development. Should you want to take advantage of the proximity of the two events we warmly encourage you to register to both. You can find more information on the EMC event HERE
