Tito Schipa Conservatory in Lecce is one of the leading Music Institutes in Southern Italy: there are thirty-two specialist programs leading to an under- or postgraduate degree, more than 980 students and 130 teachers.Lecce Conservatory is part of the AFAM-System, the italian Music University System for training and research in the field of music.The Institute is named after Tito Schipa, the very famous tenore di grazia, who generously supported its foundation in the first thirty years of last century.The Conservatory has a library with a book heritage of 11.000 texts and has got same branches displaced in the neighbouring cities.Headmaster of the Conservatory is Giuseppe Spedicati.
