General Information

Founded in 1895, named after the internationally renowned composer and cellist from Abruzzo - Italy: Gaetano Braga, the Conservatory of Teramo is one of the oldest Music Institutions in Italy.
Since 2015, the MUR (Ministry of Education, University and Research) has recognized the ISSSMC “Gaetano Braga” as an Institute of Higher Education.

The Conservatory pursues the musical education at professional level, the diffusion and growth of musical culture, the disclosure of the musical and artistic culture in all its forms through modern educational and cultural paths.

We have a Chamber Orchestra (about 50 elements), strings and wind ensembles and we often form a larger Orchestra for special events. The orchestra ranges across the entire symphonic repertoire The youth choir, in its complete or chamber formation, is fundamental in concerts in the area.
The artistic production focuses on numerous main events articulated throughout the entire academic year.

Thanks to the intimate dimension of the Conservatory, students can establish a closer relationship with the teachers and with the Institution. The possibility of creating opportunities for fruitful musical interaction means that many teachers invest educationally and musically on the ISSSMC ”Gaetano Braga”.
