Multidisciplinary and multi-genre, the HEMU encompasses every training profile in classical, jazz and pop music.
Since its establishment in 1861, the Lausanne Conservatory's core objective has been to motivate children, teenagers and young adults to engage with music and derive enjoyment from it. The Conservatory of Lausanne is currently focused on non-professional studies, offering a range of programmes designed to cultivate musical skills and foster a lifelong passion for music. For students interested in pursuing a professional career, the Conservatory offers a pre-professional programme, Pre-HEM, which prepares students for admission to higher music education institutions. This programme is conducted in close collaboration with HEMU – Haute École de Musique, with which it shares facilities.
