General Information

Conservatory was founded in 1944 during the World War II and training of staff was conducted not only in musical specialties, but also in the theatre direction. 
In 1945 the name of Kazakh national composer of the 19th century, the founder of traditional dombyra school Kurmangazy Sagyrbayev was given to the conservatory. 
There are 4 faculties at Kurmangazy Conservatory: Faculty of Musicology, Art-management and social-humanitarian disciplines, Faculty of Instrument, Faculty of Vocal, Conducting and Music Education, Faculty of Traditional Music.
In 2019 Kurmangazy Conservatory passed the international accreditation of the agency Music Quality Enhancement - Musique (Brussels, Belgium) on the programs of  Bachelor Degree in 2017, Master's and Doctoral Programs in 2019.
