General Information
The Istanbul State Conservatory, which started its education in the academic year 1971-1972, became a part of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University in 1982. In the academic year 1986-1987, the Conservatory moved to the Baltacılar Dairesi in Dolmabahçe Palace. Since its establishment, the Conservatory has had a teaching staff consisting of prominent artists in their fields, such as Ahmed Adnan Saygun, Cemal Reşit Rey, Bülent Tarcan, İlhan Usmanbaş, Cengiz Tanç, Metin Öğüt, Erçivan Saydam, Sevin Berk, Seher Tanrıyar, Nuri İyicil, who have provided education.
The goal of the Music Department is to cultivate performers and composers who possess international-level competence, specialization in their field, who follow and question artistic and cultural developments worldwide, and who create original interpretations and works. The department's vision is defined as establishing a presence in national and international artistic platforms, maintaining sustainability in the field by keeping up with innovations, and ensuring contemporary relevance in their educational methods and content.
