AEC has been proud to support 1000+ Concerts: Innovating Higher Music Education through Social Inclusion. Launched in October 2024 by a consortium of ten European partners and the initiative that’s drawn on the Musethica concept, has successfully brought live performances into a wide range of community spaces across Europe.
Over the course of 12 months, they have already surpassed the goal of 250 concerts. Here are the key achievements of Year One.
- Hosted 21 Musethica Sessions in the first 12 months.
- Held 2 Chamber Music Festivals.
- Surpassed the goal of 250 concerts, with a total of 224 concerts in 180+ social institutions, plus 37 public concerts in concert halls across seven countries.
- Engaged 99 young musicians, coached by 18 dedicated tutors.
- Reached 13,039 listeners/audience members.
While the performances took place on stage, the conversation resonated far beyond it. Social-media posts published during the concert weeks alone gathered over 1 million views. With the partners’ joint newsletter articles, the project’s story was shared with over 19.000 subscribers, and a growing concert video library of performances on the 1000+ Concerts YouTube channel.
Other key highlights include:
- Career Development Workshop for emerging musicians
- Impact Evaluation groundwork for assessing cultural and social outcomes
- New Audience Symposia, exploring music’s role in special schools, hospitals, and correctional facilities
- “Art of Practicing” Seminars, offering new perspectives on instrumental routines—one featured on the Nowa Miodowa Podcast
In a commitment to sustainability, the project planted 250 trees in partnership with EcoTree.
This first year was just the beginning. AEC looks forward to what’s next as they continue sharing the power of music and music education with wider society, and advancing sustainability through music.
