As announced a few months ago, AEC active members will elect candidates for the following posts during the General Assembly in Turin on 9 November:
– AEC President (the current member – Norway – eligible to stand for re-election);
– AEC Secretary General (the current member – Netherlands – eligible to stand for re-election);
– One Vice-President (the current member – Ireland – eligible to stand for re-election);
– Six Council members (two current members – Finland and France – not eligible to stand for re-election, having completed three second term; three current members – Poland, Italy and Germany – eligible to stand for re-election; one seat remained vacant since 2018).
The deadline for applications is on Monday 30 September 2019.
Keen to receive many applications, the AEC Council has just decided to facilitate the application process, by requesting that the application documents are sent in one of the official languages of AEC.
It is now possible to choose one language among English, French or German, rather than submitting the application in all the three of them (as requested so far).
Furthermore, with a view to ensuring equal opportunities, expenses incurred by Council members for AEC Council meetings (i.e. travel costs and accommodation) will be reimbursed.
All documents concerning application procedure and criteria are available on our website (under Documents/Guidelines for elections).
Please note that these documents do not mention the two important updates announced above.
