Following the successful launch of the AEC Comms Exchange last year, we are excited to announce our first deep-dive session of 2026.
This forum continues its mission to create a dynamic, peer-to-peer network where communication professionals in the Higher Music Education (HME) sector can exchange knowledge, strategies, and real-world solutions.
The Session Concept: An Institutional Deep Dive
As communication professionals, we often face a complex balancing act: speaking to the global stage (external) while simultaneously keeping our faculty, staff, and students informed and engaged (internal).
This session is designed as an “Institutional Deep Dive.” We will move away from formal lectures to hear the raw reality of managing these two fronts. Three communication officers from within the AEC network will pull back the curtain on their daily operations, sharing the friction, the hurdles, and the triumphs of maintaining a unified institutional voice.
The “1 Success & 1 Challenge” Format
To keep the exchange practical and relatable, our guest speakers will structure their contributions around a simple but revealing format:
- Internal Comms: One success story (e.g., a breakthrough in faculty engagement) and one honest, ongoing challenge.
- External Comms: One success story (e.g., a high-impact public campaign) and one challenge regarding public image or audience growth.
The goal of the Comms Exchange is not to present “perfect” case studies, but to foster a safe space for authentic peer learning.
