The d@rts project has completed its first year, achieving key milestones in cultural literacy research through the arts. The project commenced with a public Kick-Off event on January 18, 2024, gathering approximately 100 participants from various countries to discuss cultural literacy and the role of the arts in society.
A major milestone was the general assembly and consortium meeting in Bodø in July, where project members engaged with the advisory board, participated in work package discussions, and attended the Tangle/Untangle: What can the arts do in times of change? event at Stormen Konserthus. WP7’s decolonial workshop provided a critical space for discussions on power, knowledge, and cultural literacy.
The project has emphasized the importance of ethical integrity, with guidance from external ethical advisor Dr. Alison Fox from The Open University. Collaboration with sister projects in the HORIZON-HERITAGE cluster, CliVie and Expect_Art, has strengthened the collective mission and will result in a joint symposium presentation at ECER 2025 in Belgrade.
Several key deliverables have been completed, reflecting the commitment and expertise of the consortium. The second year of the project will continue to focus on fostering cultural literacy, developing innovative policies and practices, and enhancing international collaboration.
The next general assembly and consortium meeting will take place in Chemnitz in July 2025, providing further opportunities for discussion, collaboration, and advancement of the project’s objectives.
