The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between AEC and the European Performing Arts Students’ Association (EPASA) recognises and strengthens a partnership that has been active for several years. Since 2014 and the establishment of an AEC Student Working Group within the FULL SCORE project, AEC has been committed to promoting the student voice and empowering students at the level of the association itself and at the level of the member institutions.
The MoU sets out a clear framework for AEC and EPASA to continue working together to promote collaboration, artistic development, inclusion, and sustainability in HME. It also reinforces their shared mission of empowering students and alumni in music and performing arts, advocating for their interests, and encouraging their active role in shaping the future of the sector. Through this partnership, both organisations aim to develop joint initiatives and foster stronger institutional connections.
Complementary multi-annual agreements will define responsibilities and duties of both parties, as well as administrative and financial arrangements, ensuring smooth and coordinated collaboration moving forward.
The EPASA Conference
From 8 to 9 November 2025, the EPASA Conference will take place at the University Mozarteum in Salzburg, held in the frame of the AEC Annual Congress.
Centered on the theme “We’re not the next generation — we’re already here, shaping what’s next,” the conference will bring together students in the performing arts for two days of panels, workshops, and creative “problem-solving lab” sessions.
These activities aim to explore student realities, address pressing sector challenges such as burnout and diversity, equity & inclusion, and co-create actionable solutions. A special “Burning Topics” panel will give attendees the opportunity to raise and debate issues most important to them.
During the General Assembly on 8 November, EPASA will also hold elections for four leadership positions: President, Vice President, and two Board Members.
