The turbulence of the past two years has undeniably left its mark on university finances. Now more than ever, it is crucial to gain a comprehensive understanding of the financial landscape across European universities.
That is where the European University Association’s work on ‘Financially sustainable universities’ comes in. EUA is looking to renew its insights into university finances from an institutional perspective, exploring trends, identifying strengths and weaknesses, and deriving actionable recommendations for all stakeholders.
This survey delves into various aspects of university finances, from the impact of recent developments like European Universities alliances to exploring capacities in areas such as borrowing, fundraising and investment. By taking part, you will have the opportunity to critically reflect on your institution’s financial strategy while contributing valuable data for benchmarking and advocacy purposes.
You can design your path in the survey by selecting questions relevant to your institution. Please note that only one coordinated response per institution should be submitted. For your convenience, we invite you to consult the PDF version that is integrated into the survey.
Your input will be instrumental in mapping institutional practices, drawing insights, and generating recommendations for the entire sector. The first findings will be presented at the 2024 EUA Funding Forum, with the full study slated for publication in 2025.
Deadline
The survey will be open until July 15th, 2024.
