Join the International Academy for young female composers!

In keeping with its commitment to young artists, the Orchestre de chambre de Paris launched an international academy in 2021 to encourage the emergence of young female composers.

This academy supports young women composers in developing their orchestral writing, helping them advance professionally and prepare for higher conservatory studies.

Over the course of two years at the Philharmonie de Paris, academy members take part in a series of workshops, including composition sessions, sectionals, and full orchestra rehearsals centred around a commissioned work for the Orchestre de chambre de Paris, which will be premiered during the 2026/2027 season. The composition programme is led by composer Yves Chauris, who provides artistic guidance throughout the process.

While composing for the chamber orchestra is the academy’s core focus, participants also engage in applied composition projects linked to the orchestra’s cultural and outreach initiatives. They benefit from numerous artistic encounters, including privileged access to the orchestra’s symphonic season, rehearsals, and concerts.
