Having a good ear is essential for any musician regardless of instrument, style or musical tradition. To boost our technical skills we practice with our instrument, but to improve our ear is a bit more abstract and for students, progress sometimes feels slow and unmeasurable.
In this webinar, we will discuss how to help students practice better, improve quicker, and become more motivated to train their aural skills. As an approach to tackle these questions, the virtual learning environment EarMaster Cloud will be presented and self-assessed learning through instant feedback will be discussed and exemplified with specific exercises and different feedback types.
EarMaster is an app for ear training and music theory that is used by higher music education institutions on all five continents and comes in 15 different languages. The webinar will be in English and the host will be educational adviser, Niels Bastrup, who has many years of experience as a music theory teacher from The Royal Academy of Music, Aarhus.
