Sibelius Academy announces a new international orchestra project LEAD! The Orchestra project, organised as a collaboration of students from three music universities: the Sibelius Academy of Uniarts Helsinki, from Finland, Haute école de musique Genève from Switzerland and Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music from Singapore.
It aims to enhance the future professionals’ professional skills in the orchestra context through mentoring, discussions and workshops. Working with top international professionals of their own fields, students gain a wealth of knowledge and experience that will support their artistic identity and career.
The Orchestra project is chaired by Jukka-Pekka Saraste, iconic conductor and the newly-appointed next artistic director of the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, and it will take over the stages of the Helsinki Music Centre, Sibelius Hall and Tampere Hall on 18-20 September 2022.
