As the HarMA HUB project comes to an end later this year, the HarMA seminars and other related events will continue next year.

HarMA Seminar 2027

Save the dates for the next HarMA seminar: April 15, 16, and 17, 2027, at the Academy of Music Ljubljana, (Slovenia).

The HarMA Seminar, together with the HarMA HUB project, aims to bring together music theory faculty members specialising in harmony, counterpoint, composition, music analysis, and ear training to share experiences and exchange pedagogical approaches within music theory education.

Since its launch in 2018, HarMA has established itself as an important meeting platform for music theory educators within Higher Music Education Institutions (HMEIs). The Seminar promotes international collaboration, provides valuable networking opportunities, and supports European mobility initiatives. It also draws attention to the essential role of music theory disciplines and encourages the development of curricula through new strategic partnerships and exchange programmes.

The main milestones are as follows:

  • October 2026: Early registration opens (deadline: December 15, 2026)
  • January 15, 2027: Proposal submission deadline
  • March 1, 2027: Final registration deadline

Registrations are confirmed upon submission of the registration form and payment of the registration fee.

Additional information will be provided in due course.

HarMA week for students 2026

We are happy to announce that in 2027 the “HarMA Week for Students,” will take place at the Ferenc Liszt Academy, Budapest, Hungary, from November 9 to 13, 2026.

The 5-day programme is designed to allow participating music theory students to experiment with, transfer, and apply the project’s content, as well as to work with the tools developed within the HarMA project. It aims to broaden students’ understanding of how music theory is taught across different EU countries.

More information will follow in due course.
