New Series of Artist as Teacher Seminars!
Following two highly successful editions conducted within the framework of the ARTEMIS project, the AEC, in collaboration with the Royal Conservatoire The Hague has officially launched a new series of Artist as Teacher seminars.
Aimed at teachers at all stages of their careers, the programme offers engaging learning experiences designed to strengthen pedagogical expertise and coaching skills in the conservatoire environment.
In line with the programme’s core principle of co-creation, participants play an active role in shaping the learning trajectory by sharing their expertise, engaging in collective reflection, and practicing inter-vision.
The first in-person sessions of the 2025 – 2026 edition took place on 31 October and 1 November at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague. Participants were welcomed with an introduction to the course led by Gerda van Zelm, Renée Jonker and Susan Williams, who also presented the writing assignments and the concept of mutual lesson visits – both key elements aimed at deepening reflection and fostering the development of teaching practice throughout the series.
Participants will stay engaged through online sessions until they meet again in person in April, keeping discussions and learning flowing throughout the course of the programme.
