We are happy to announce that, since the beginning of the year, nine new member institutions from Spain, Italy, France, Greece and China have joined the AEC Community. Applications for both Active and Associate membership are regularly assessed by the Council members representing the regional groups to which these institutions belong, with support from the AEC Office.
At the last Council meeting on 11th March in Milan, the following institutions were granted Active membership of our association:
- Conservatorio Statale di Musica Domenico Cimarosa di Avellino
- Conservatorio Statale di Musica Gaetano Braga di Teramo
- Conservatorio Statale di Musica Vecchi Tonelli di Modena
- Conservatorio Superior de Música Andrés de Vandelvira de Jaén
- Real Conservatorio Superior de Música Victoria Eugenia de Granada
- University of Macedonia, Department of Music Science and Art
- Pôle Sup’93 (Pôle supérieur d’enseignement artistique Aubervilliers-La Courneuve Seine-Saint-Denis Ile-de-France)
This category is dedicated to any conservatoire, académie de musique, Musikhochschulen or any other equivalent institution in Europe aiming at educating students for the music profession. These institutions are engaged in the delivery of programmes, some of which are above Level 4 of the European Qualifications Framework (EQF) or its equivalent, and meet the broad description of such programmes contained in the AEC-Tuning Handbook: ‘Reference Points for the Design and Delivery of Degree Programmes in Music’.
Furthermore, the following institutions were granted Associate membership:
This category is dedicated to institutions, both within and outside Europe, which either provide the same level of education as stated for Active members above OR are active in, or have connection to wider aspects of training for the music profession.
With these new members on board, we are very happy to announce that the number of AEC members amounts to 313, an unprecedented milestone in the history of the association. Moreover, Higher Music Education institutions from all across the globe keep requesting more information for membership affiliation, which will ultimately make these numbers grow in the near future.
