Opera Europa is now able to announce the second edition of the Eva Kleinitz Scholarship, designed to advance the careers of talented young artists. The initial awards launched last year have benefited five singers: Lluis Calvet, Ava Dodd, Hasmik Harutyunyan, Lynda Olivia Nwabudike and Dennis Orellana, now enjoying successful careers in opera.
The applications are open until January 31rst 2023, details can be found here.
Applications are invited for a limited number of grants of up to €3.000 each from singers currently in full-time further education, at either university or conservatoire.
The Scholarship is to honour the memory of Eva Kleinitz, Director of the Opéra National du Rhin until her death in May 2019, and past President of Opera Europa, and is funded by a bequest in her will specifically directed to the assistance of young singers. During her years at the Bregenzer Festspiele, La Monnaie, Staatstheater Stuttgart and in Strasbourg, Eva offered generous support, encouragement and opportunities to countless young singers.
Please send in your application as a single pdf document, including (private) links to your audition videos, by 31 January 2023 to scholarship@opera-europa.org
