The first opera project mentioned in the brochure is “Opera Out of Opera” (OOO), coordinated by Conservatorio Santa Cecilia in partnership with the AEC, Mozarteum Salzburg, Ópera de Cámara de Navarra and Petit Opera du Monde – Arts On (Athens).
Five live performances in Italy, Spain, Greece and Austria were held as the main outcome of the project aiming at presenting simplified versions of opera in unusual places (such as airports, shopping malls, beaches, etc.) to make it more accessible for the general public.
The Interactive App “Opera Out of Opera” available in five different languages (English, German, Italian, Spanish and Greek) and downloadable from the Apple Store or Google Play provides remote and live audience with an opportunity to watch the live performances and video recordings, get information about the performed operas and arias, including the lyrics (librettos).
The project also helped various young artists to gain new skills and competences related to intercultural communication, efficient tool of enriching international cooperation and promoting an intercultural dialogue.
New formats and adaptations of opera performances held in non-traditional settings were successful in terms of reaching a wider public often lacking in knowledge about opera that should be accessible for everyone.
