The preparatory Working Group of the AEC Pop and Jazz Platform (PJP) has always been listening to its community and each year the conference programme is prepared carefully in order to satisfy the needs and expectations of the participants. Following the several requests coming from the Pop and Jazz community, the Working Group is planning to introduce a different, broader and more various format of the pre-conference sessions by including four thematic sessions.

The Pop and Jazz Working Group is currently looking for contributors for the following four thematic pre-conference sessions of the Pop and Jazz Platform:

  • Jazz meeting
  • Pop meeting
  • Traditional/Folk/ World Music meeting
  • Students meeting (student representative)

This assignment is voluntary, and the contact person will collaborate closely with the PJP WG and WG coordinator.

We are looking for someone to assist with preparation of the pre-conference meeting. The ideal candidate should have a solid expertise in the genre area, be an active musician and a representative of the AEC community. Each pre-conference session should last at least half a day.

The main task and responsibilities will include:

  • Proposing a session’s programme (propose speakers, themes, format);
  • leading or actively participating in the meeting;
  • searching for input from local artists;
  • attending at least one Working Group meeting (online).

In addition, the student profile’s task will be to reach international students in the country/city where the conference is organised. The Student contact person will stay in close contact with the AEC Student Working Group.

Please send a short motivation letter and your ideas and examples of a session before September 15, 2020 to paulinagut@aec-music.eu.
The PJP Working Group will select new contributors by the end of September 2020.

We are looking forward to collaborating with you and listening to your ideas!
