‘Introducing Interdisciplinarity in Music Studies in the Western Balkans in Line with European Perspective’
The project ’Introducing Interdisciplinarity in Music Studies in the Western Balkans in Line with European Perspective’ was a multi-country project (Serbia, Kosovo–under UNSCR 1244, Bosnia, Austria, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Brussels, Slovenia and Sweden) that encompassed high education in the field of music with the development of interdisciplinary approaches as its priority. This project was supported by the TEMPUS project of the European Commission and coordinated by the Faculty of Music in Belgrade.
Project aims:
- Modernizing curricula for the first and second cycle of studies; developing and introducing new modern and flexible interdisciplinary study programmes in all three study cycles;
- Developing and implementing regional continuing education with certified lifelong learning courses.
AEC’s role in InmusWB
AEC’s main role in the project was to provide advice and expertise in redesigning study programmes, upgrading methodology and developing lifelong learning courses at higher music education institutions in the Western Balkan region. AEC’s network served as a ‘resource centre’ from which knowledge about higher music education in Europe can be drawn.
